Helzberg Diamonds has chosen the Netezza Performance Server
appliance for its enterprise data warehouse platform, serving more than
260 stores.

Melissa & Doug, a designer and manufacturer of educational toys and
children's products, will launch a corporate website and online store
powered by the Shopatron eCommerce platform.
Patagonia.com has implemented Where 2 Get It product locator
technology to manage daily inventory management updates from Patagonia's
online retailers and provide automated inventory level reporting.

Supermarketer HEB has signed a deal to research the use of vertical wind
turbines at its grocery stores. The retailer says the study will take
place at a company "retail support center" in south Texas. Working with
Wind Energy Corp., HEB will conduct an 18- to 24-month
observation and analysis of wind power opportunities in south Texas.
Wind Energy will manage the installation, data collection and research
associated with the project.

Morrisons, the U.K.'s fourth-largest supermarket group, has entered into
a strategic relationship with Oracle to help increase operational
flexibility across the business. Morrisons has purchased a prototype
Oracle footprint that includes a suite of merchandising, planning and
stores applications; the E-Business Suite; Oracle's Siebel CRM and
Oracle Fusion Middleware. The grocer plans to implement the products
over the next five years.
The Carphone Warehouse is implementing RedPrairie’s Execution
Management application to view all aspects of store operations. The
retailer operates 2,400 stores under The Carphone Warehouse banner in
the U.K., The Phone House in European markets and in the U.S. market
with partner Best Buy.

ACI Worldwide, an international provider of software for
electronic payment systems, has formed a partnership with Infoglide
Software, a provider of identity resolution and analysis software.
The companies have combined resources to provide enhancements around
returns authorization, loss prevention intelligence, employee risk
screening and eFencing intelligence.

SYNNEX, a business process services company, has entered into a
definitive agreement to acquire substantially all the assets of New
Age Electronics, a distributor of IT and consumer electronics
products to the retail sector.

CKE Restaurants has approved HyperActive Technologies as a
preferred provider of drive-through timer and OCB (order confirmation
board) solutions.
Airport Wireless has selected Tomax’ Retail.net solution to
support the 32-store airport retail chain. Additional Tomax solutions to
be implemented include Tomax Portals, Workflow and Activity Management
and Retail Analytics.
Hobby Lobby has selected SAP America’s flagship enterprise
resource planning software, SAP ERP, to provide a solution platform to
help manage operations.
C&K Market has selected StoreNext Retail Technologies’ Connected
Services suite of web-based applications to manage the regional chain.
C&K owns and operates 49 Ray’s Food Place stores in northern California
and Oregon and five Shop Smart stores, five Price Less Food locations
and 12 Pharmacy Express locations.
Hart Schaffner & Marx, a subsidiary of Hartmarx, is implementing New
Generation Computing’s e-PLM for Product Lifecycle Management and
TPM for shop floor control.

Grand Union Family Markets has chosen Revionics as its solution
provider for price optimization. The portfolio includes price
optimization, promotional planning and optimization, category analytics
and competitive price auditing. Grand Union operates stores in New York,
Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Wesco, a self-distributed operator of convenience stores, has selected
the KSS suite of fuel-pricing products -- PriceNet, PriceNet
Mobile and KSS Visualizer -- for company-wide implementation.
Pacific Northwest grocer Haggen has selected the KSS Retail price
modeling, optimization and forecasting solution to be used by its
merchants for promotional and everyday pricing.

Winn-Dixie has selected Information Resources Inc.’s retail space
planning software, IRI Apollo Designer Workstation, to optimize the
performance of its retail shelf space, reduce out-of-stocks and improve
customer satisfaction. The supermarketer operates 521 stores in Florida,
Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.

The Charles C. Parks Co., a regional distributor to convenience stores
in the southern United States, will upgrade the supply chain technology
in its Gallatin, Tenn.-based warehouse with Retalix
PowerWarehouse, Retalix Power Voice and Retalix Power Productivity
software solutions.

Retail Equation, a provider of retail transaction optimization
solutions, has named Bob Walters and Tom Rittman to its sales and
marketing team.
Jim Kuschill has joined RewardStream, a provider of SaaS loyalty
marketing technology, as vice president of market development.
John Karonis has been named managing director, consumer products
division, North America, at global consulting firm Kurt Salmon
Associates.
Bart Petterle has joined Revionics as senior vice president of
sales.
Hypercom has appointed Heidi R. Goff as president and managing
director, the Americas.
James K. Marstiller has been named senior vice president at TNS
Retail Forward, a global management consulting and market research
firm specializing in retail intelligence and shopper insights.
Nick Pahade has joined GSI Commerce as president of gsi
interactive.
